SEA Pavilions
‘SEA Pavilions’ is an initiative by SEA to invite an architect to build an experimental structure on its campus.
Pavilions[1] have historically been outbuildings, tents, summer-houses, sheds, ancillary buildings semi open structures in the landscape, and temporary buildings in trade expos. The pavilion stands between a utilitarian building and a folie. For SEA this initiative is also a move to get away from the drawing board to the act of making space, experimenting with materials, spatial forms and a full-bodied engagement with architecture. This, we hope, will foster a larger ecology of experimentation and riyaz.
