The exhibition ‘Soft Forms’ bookends the year-long celebration of a decade of SEA.
‘Soft Forms’ frames a school of thought we have developed at SEA over the last ten years, which we hope creates new directions for the pedagogy and the practice of architecture in India. Alongside the publication titled Soft Forms, Notes on Architectural Pedagogy, this exhibition opens up strands of thinking around architectural form, space, pedagogy and institutions that we have developed at SEA. Designed as floating islands, the space allows the viewers to navigate the following coordinates of rethinking pedagogy and / or practice in non linear ways.
+ Soft Institution
+ Drawing Space / Thinking Design-Thinking Technology
+ An Ontological, Genealogical and Typological Approach to Architecture
+ Making Spatial Arguments
The exhibition is an invitation to students, practitioners as well as the public at large to rethink the role of architecture in the production of everyday space as it produces life. It is a call to soften architectural space towards creating a society that is more empathetic, malleable and humane.
