Consideration: When Attention becomes Care
by Monica Narula
The verb ‘to consider’ has two meanings - to pay attention
to something, and to be considerate, or careful, or full of care. An artistic
practice can be parsed as a form of considering the world - a way of looking,
thinking, remembering and rendering space, lives, objects and time in a way
that gives them adequate attention, and cares for them, or about them.
